Socrates Theme

I like to purchase wordpress theme with the intention of using them for my niche sites. I purchased quite a number of them but there is always something that I want that is not there and I’m no techie person that can go in and modify the theme either. So, I always on the lookout for themes that are simple to use and easy to ‘modify. Elegant theme is a good investment that I put my money in, but there is another one that was recently launched by Joel Comm’s team. It’s called Socrates Theme and after much deliberation I made my purchased yesterday.

I bought the unlimited sites license as I want to use the theme to upgrade my niche sites and I’d completed the installation on one site last night. It took me about 2 hours to complete the changes on this site, not because the theme is hard to use but because I don’t know how to change the existing header of my site to the 960×150 size that Socrates Themes requires. The original header was 750×250 but because I never try changing the layered psd file before, it took me longer to increase the size (and I’m using Gimp by the way).

I make a few mistakes when doing this and have to restart the process a few times but finally I get the header size that I want. I’m proud of myself for sticking out to complete this. I finished the ‘customization’ at 12.30am last night and here is how it looks.

Socrates Ttheme in Action

Socrates Ttheme in Action

In case you didn’t notice, this site is from one of the Turbo PLR package that was included inside the Turbo Farewell and I’ve been using the stock theme that it includes since I launched the site. Though I didn’t change the ebook itself, the articles on the sites are unique. I intend to grow the sites and add more value to it.

I was hoping they add in another 3 columns structure to the theme. The one that they have now is available with one column on the right and left and body in the middle. It will be great if the theme can be modified to have the column side by side too :) .

Anyway, the next project that I’ll use Socrates theme will be on my craft site. I’ve been waiting to update the theme as the original one seems a bit dull but couldn’t find one that I like. I think the time has come and watch out for update soon :)

  1. [...] In this post, I want to share a little bit more about what you get when you purchased Socrates Theme. No, I’m not writing about Socrates Theme itself but more on what you get inside the members area that you don’t want to miss. In case you missed it, I’d another post on Socrates Theme here. [...]
